Our Mission: A Welcoming Community for All Builders
ParLUGment is dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for all LEGO® fans. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all members to ensure our community remains respectful and positive. By participating in club activities (both in-person and online), members agree to uphold these principles.
#1. Be Respectful and Inclusive
We are a diverse community of builders with different backgrounds, ideas, and skill levels. Treat all members, guests, and the public with kindness and respect.
No Harassment or Bullying: We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination. This includes, but is not limited to, actions or comments related to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or building style.
Constructive Community: We are here to build each other up, not tear each other down. Offer constructive feedback, celebrate each other’s creations, and assume good intentions.
#2. Keep It Family-Friendly
Our club is a family-friendly community, even if we are an Adults only club. Events and online spaces are often shared by members of all ages, including children.
Appropriate Content: All conversations, builds (MOCs), and shared content must be appropriate for a general audience. Please avoid subject matter that is excessively violent, political, sexual, or otherwise offensive.
Professional Conduct: When representing the club at public events, always conduct yourself in a professional and courteous manner.
Substance Use and Impairment: Members must not be impaired by alcohol, cannabis, or illegal drugs while attending meetings or representing the club at shows. This voids our insurance coverage.
#3. Respect Club and Personal Property
Personal Belongings: Be respectful of other members’ builds; they may be fragile! Never touch, move, or handle another member’s LEGO creations or personal property without their explicit permission.
Club and Venue Property: Treat club property and event venues with care and respect. Be sure to clean up your area before leaving an event or meeting.
Privacy: Do not share personal or sensitive information about other members without their consent. What is shared in the club stays in the club.
#4. Resolving Issues and Reporting Concerns
We are committed to resolving conflicts fairly and respectfully.
Step 1: Direct Conversation: If a minor disagreement occurs, we encourage members to first try and resolve it respectfully and privately.
Step 2: Executive Mediation: If a private conversation is not possible or does not resolve the issue, please bring your concern to a member of the Executive Committee.
Step 3: Formal Review: The Executive will listen to all parties involved to understand the situation fully. All reports will be taken seriously and handled with discretion.
#5. Consequences for Violations
Violating the Code of Conduct undermines the safety and integrity of our club. The Executive Committee will address violations on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the severity and frequency of the infraction, consequences may include:
A temporary suspension from club meetings and events.
Permanent revocation of club membership.
