Tell us about yourself:
Mid thirties, works in IT.

How long have you been an AFOL (adult fan of LEGO):
Since Jan 2020.

How did your interest in the hobby develop:
Got some sets for about 5 Christmases in a row from my parents when I was a kid. The dark ages grasped me as I moved on to video gaming and other things as I got older. However I always kept my LEGO in boxes with the idea to share with my future kids. However Covid brought me back from my dark ages when my now Wife bought me a Millennium Falcon (Solo version) for Christmas 2019 and then I bought her first set, the T-Rex Rampage, about 4 months later. All these new sets and pieces, plus new online ordering tools and the opening of the LEGO Store in Ottawa really ignited my AFOLness.

How did you find ParLUGment:
I was searching for LEGO Bricklink stores in Ottawa in 2019 and came across Mike Mac’s store. He had a ParLUGment link or something and eventually I reached out to join.

What is your favourite theme:
Castle and any fantasy type… Lord of the rings, Harry Potter

What is your favourite aspect of the hobby:
Coming up with my own creations and the fact it can be mixed and matched and stays good over time so many people can enjoy it.

What is your proudest accomplishment within the hobby:
None yet but working on it.

Wedding
No LEGO but still building

“Going from being a normal kid with LEGO to a mid thirties male with LEGO makes me realize that despite making money and getting more responsibilities, age is just a number and we “adults” can still have fun and be kids at heart.”
