One of our members graciously invited us to a summer BBQ/pig roast in his immense backyard, where we used LEGO support brick to build a giant castle, evoking the spirit of the classic yellow castle so well known to LEGO fans of a certain age. We’re not saying we’re old, but many of us knew it well. While the poor swine turned on a spit, with the smell of burning wood wafting nearby, a few members were able to build a large scale castle, using the classic 2×4 brick in very basic colours, to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the LEGO company. We couldn’t think of a more fitting way than saluting this classic set. With the help of another member’s drone, we were able to capture the essence of collaborative building at the same time as enjoying a beautiful August afternoon/evening. After the delicious meal, which of course included a minifigure cake, we sat by the bonfire, and fed the great Canadian mosquito(s).
